Most people find answers to their questions on this page, but you might be a "special" person.
How can I delete my account?
Are you fracking nuts?! Why would you want to cut yourself out of the excitement of your local music scene? If you are absolutely sure that you want to delete your account, you can do so here. Please note that your account will be permanently deleted and irrecoverable! And we're gonna print out your profile photo and throw darts at it.
How do I upload videos?
You can add video in lots of ways. In your profile, you can embed a YouTube/Vimeo/Blip.TV/Whatever video to your "My Chops" section by just copying and pasting the embed code from the video service. You can also upload a video directly to Groove River by clicking the Groove Tools menu, and selecting Videos. And if you have a video you think should be showcased on Groove Tube, you should let us know.
How can I deal with someone that is bothering me?
If someone is bothering or harassing you, blocking them is usually the best solution. Visit the Account Settings page to learn how to block people. If someone continues to harass you despite your efforts, you can report that user here. We'll look into it and take appropriate action (kick him in the nuts, ban him, or tell you to quit whining).
How can I report spam or other inappropriate content?
You can report spam, pornography, or any other inappropriate content by clicking the "Report" link on the page containing the content in question, or by clicking here. Keep in mind that what we deem inappropriate (or pornographic, for that matter) may differ from your definition. And our opinion trumps yours. Get over it.
Is my information kept private?
Absolutely. We do not share any personally identifying information about you to any third party, other than what appears on this site. Obviously.
How do I invite my friends to join Groove River?
By inviting your friends, you're helping to build a stronger local music scene. Click the Invite link in the main menu bar. Our handy Invite page lets you choose your friends from major social networks like Facebook, MySpace, and YouTube, or from your address book on popular email systems like GMail, Hotmail, AOL, and Yahoo. When you choose one of these services, you'll be asked for your username and password for that service. That information is *only* used to log in to the service so that you can choose which of your friends to invite. Your account name and password for those services is *not* recorded, stored or otherwise used by Groove River. You can also just enter their email addresses one at a time.
How do I add an existing user as a friend?
Use the search tool to find the person that you're looking for. Then click that person's profile. In the left-hand column is a link that reads "Add to My Friends". Click it, and a friendship request will be sent to that person. They must approve your friendship request before it becomes active.
How do I remove a friend?
$50k, the right connect, concrete loafers and a river.
But if you're talking about a Groove River friend, from your profile, click the "Friends" tab. Then, click on the name of the person you want to remove. This will display his/her profile. In the column on the left-hand side, click the "Remove from My Friends" link.
How does a band advertise on Groove River?
Our goal is to help local bands promote their music to the masses. To facilitate that, we offer free ads to bands, which can be purchased using points. Points are earned by bands and their fans by posting photos, uploading videos, commenting, blogging, and posting events. Basically, using Groove River to promote your band gathers points, which you can then use to advertise. See the Get the full scoop on points in our Points FAQ for more info.
How can I add my songs to the music store?

Can my business get a directory listing on Groove River?
Sure, we'll give you a free directory listing with a few caveats. 1. You have to ascribe to the Groove River Statement of Purpose: In a nutshell, we'll help you if you're helping local musicians. If you're not dedicated to that goal, go ahead and move on. 2. By creating your directory listing, you agree to be bound by our terms of service, which basically gives us the right to change our terms of service at any time, and to kick you off Groove River if you don't take #1 seriously. That being said, welcome! We're happy to have you join our effort to build a strong and vibrant music scene!
