Ultrasuede Studio offers the following services:

Event hosting The studio is large enough to accomodate groups up to 40 persons. It's the perfect place for an intimate performance or listening party.

BOOKING: Hours are by appointment. Please e-mail or call 513-542-5111 for availability. If you have specific dates in mind, please include that info and don't forget your e-mail address and/or phone number.
RATES: We offer two basic rates, an hourly rate of $75.00 (plus tax) or an 8-hour block rate of $500.00 (plus tax). All rates include an engineer. Deposit required.
A deposit of $100 per day is required to book a session. To qualify for the block rate discount, the block(s) must be paid for at the time of booking. Any outstanding balance is due in full at the end of each session. No media (tapes, CDs or DVDs) will be released to anyone with an outstanding balance. Sorry, no exceptions.
DEPOSIT: The deposit is credited against your final balance, but is otherwise NONREFUNDABLE. If you need to reschedule, we will re-apply your existing deposit to a new date if you give us at least 48 hours notice. No-shows, last minute changes and/or cancellations result in LOSS OF DEPOSIT.
Please make sure everyone in your group is aware of our deposit policy and available during the time you are booking before you schedule a session. Bookings are not guaranteed until a deposit has been received. Checks may be mailed to 2834 Spring Grove Ave. Cash deposits should be delivered in person. To pay with your credit card, please call 513-542-5111.
PAYMENT: We accept cash, credit cards (via PayPal) and check. If you pay by check, the check will have to clear before any masters, CD's or DVD's are released. The bounced check fee is $50.00.
RECORDING AND MIXING: Generally speaking, the clock starts once your gear is set in place. All sessions begin at the scheduled start time, regardless of whether or not any band members are present. There is no free set up time for hourly bookings.
Master tapes and computer files are uninsured. Ultrasuede Studio, Inc. assumes no responsibility for master tapes, computer files and/or any other items left on the premises. Your best protection against data loss is to make safety copies on your own hard drive. Any item left longer than 30 days may be disposed of at the discretion of Ultrasuede Studio, Inc.
Obviously, it's in our best interest to protect your files but computers are not 100% reliable and accidents happen. The best way to safeguard your project is to make sure you leave each session with copies of all the current files. An external FireWire drive is ideal for this purpose. An entire LP project can be copied in 15 minutes or less!
When recording to hard disk (computer), your session files will remain on our system until your project is finished. Once you are satisfied with your CD-R mixes, you have the option of purchasing a DVD-R archive copy of your session files; a digital "master tape", for lack of a better term. These are all the individual tracks that you recorded during the session: drums, instruments, vocals, etc, plus all the effects and level settings. We will copy your session to your FireWire (1394) drive at no cost. Since most LP projects weigh in somewhere between 10-20GB, this is a great investment for a musician or band as it will hold 10 or more album projects!
TAPE/MEDIA: The 16-track uses 2” analog tape. A reel lasts 15 minutes at 30-ips or 30 mins. at 15-ips. It is also possible to buy or rent used tape. Recording to tape and copying the tracks to computer for mixing is a great way to get the sonic benefits of analog plus all the convenience of mixing digitally. After you're finished mixing, you can back up your FireWire (1394) or USB-2 hard drive.
DON'T LEAVE YOUR FINISHED LP FILES AT ULTRASUEDE (or anywhere else for that matter) AND EXPECT THEM TO BE THERE WEEKS, MONTHS OR YEARS LATER. WE CANNOT ASSUME RESPONSIBILITY FOR DATA LEFT ON OUR COMPUTERS, ESPECIALLY AFTER YOUR PROJECT IS DONE. We need the space for new projects.
